Manon and John were married at their home in Shelburne, Vt. in July. Manon works with me at the UVM College of Medicine and John is the owner of Vermont Tent Company. Needless to say the tents for this wedding were beautiful. I’ve never seen wall-to-wall carpeting in a tent before. It was an amazing wedding! I hope you enjoy the slideshow below and don’t forget to visit the our online gallery to see the entire wedding.
Thanks for visiting.
When I was in 7th grade, I watched as my first black and white print appeared in a tray of developer. It was magic and I was hooked. (It was also a photo of me that I won’t share here.) Photography has been a passion of mine ever since. Eventually I convinced my high school to allow me to reopen the school's darkroom and to give me the key! After a couple of years of photographing the city around me, my classmates, my rugby team and really, anyone else I could find, I began freelancing for newspapers such as the weekly The Vanguard Press, and dailies, The Burlington Free Press, The Boston Globe and The New York Times, and countless smaller community newspapers.
As digital photography was arriving on scene, I was in school at the Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Imaging Arts and Sciences, getting my grubby little hands on the first Nikon and Kodak digital cameras. Upon graduation, I landed my first staff photography job at The Burlington Free Press, in part to assist them with their transition from film to digital photography. Ten years later, I left the Free Press as a photo editor and I’m currently running the Medical Photography studio at the University of Vermont College of Medicine.
Photojournalism and documentary photography are my main interests. I love to meet people and I love the opening into their lives that photography and story telling provides.
I’m an active member of the following photography organizations:
National Press Photographers Association, past member of the Board of Directors
Wedding Photojournalist Association,
Vermont Association of Wedding Professionals.I consider myself lucky to live in beautiful Essex Junction, Vermont with my wife Jennifer and our three amazing (and well photographed) daughters.
I hope you enjoy what you see here and thanks for visiting.
