FAQ

I understand that the process of selecting a photographer is can be very time comsuming. To that end, I’ve provided some answers to some frequent questions in an effort to simplify the process for you. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any additional questions.

Will you meet with us prior to our wedding?
Yes. I’m located just minutes outside of Burlington, Vt. and I’d be happy to meet with you – preferably at your ceremony or reception location. I am also available via Skype, Facetime or phone!

How much do you charge?
I charge $350.00 per hour. This includes a full set of proof prints, an online gallery for three months, and a set of full-resolution digital files for you to keep. I also offer several packages that include a number of different products such as multimedia slideshows, wedding albums, prints and thank you cards.

Do weddings booked by the hour have a minimum charge?
Yes, I ask that you book two or more hours.

Do you photograph engagement sessions?
I do. I look forward to getting to know you prior to your wedding. I find it a great way to break the ice. I offer this service as part of my packages and as an add-on for those who choose the hourly route.  The engagement session includes a digital image for your wedding announcement, and one for your wedding website if needed. I can also assist in creating a beautiful album with the engagement photographs that guests can leave comments in as they arrive to your reception.

Do you travel?
I love to travel. I frequently find myself in NY, NH and the coasts of Maine and Massachusetts. Your first 100 miles in Vermont are included. Please contact me for a travel quote to other destinations including the U.S. and beyond.

Do you offer rehearsal dinner coverage or day after coverage?
Yes, and I bill $250.00 per hour for these and that includes proofs and full resolution digital files. There is a two-hour minimum.  I would also be happy to offer you a more comprehensive quote based on your plans. Further discounts can be made for multi-day weddings.

Do you use an assistant?
I will bring an assistant based on the complexity of the wedding. If I choose to bring an assistant, it will be at no additional cost to you.

Do you work with a second photographer?
Many of my weddings require two or more photographers. I would be happy to quote you based on the details of your wedding.

Do you offer a self-portrait / photo booth for the wedding reception?
I do and I can provide a portrait area with live image review upon request. The fee will vary based on several factors. Most often, couples choose to have the photographs taken in the photo booth emaile directly to the guest.

What kind of cameras do you use?
I use professional Nikon camera bodies, (D3, D3s) and professional lenses.

Do you use flash?
I do use flash when appropriate for the setting, situation and photograph.

Do you also take formal photographs?
Yes. A wedding is like a big family reunion. Formal group photographs are included and of course I’ll make some beautiful photographs of the couple.

Do you use a contract?
I do and I can provide one for your review.

Do you require a deposit?
I ask for a deposit of 40%.

When is the balance due?
The balance is due when you receive your proof prints.

Are you insured for liability?
I carry a very large liability policy and I can provide a form for your venue if needed.

When will I receive my wedding photos?
My goal is for you to see your photographs online within two weeks. You’ll have the opportunity to review them and decide on a mix of black and white and color proof prints. Once that decision is made, your proofs and digital files will follow.

Can you supply references?
I would be happy to provide current references upon request. You can also visit my Testimonials page.
